Embedded Rust Engineer | Hamburg, Germany

Jose has strong systems engineering and production experience, but lacks the specific embedded Rust expertise this role requires. His background is primarily in AI/ML, full-stack web, and cloud infrastructure rather than embedded systems, firmware development, or safety-critical hardware. While his quality mindset and infrastructure automation skills are valuable, the 1+ year no_std Rust requirement and hardware protocol experience (CAN/LIN/BLE) are not evidenced in his CV.

Hook: Your founding engineer experience shipping production systems at scale and comfort with infrastructure/CI/CD could translate to embedded work, but you'd need to develop embedded Rust expertise from the ground up.

Missing: no_std Rust production experience, embedded systems/firmware development, CAN/LIN/BLE/LTE protocols, ARM/RISC-V architecture, safety-critical systems (IEC 61508/ISO 26262), hardware integration experience, real-time embedded constraints

We're building a software-defined Battery Management System (BMS) platform + instant quote configuration frontend that gets battery manufacturers the right BMS in days, not years. Funded, prototype proven, first large customer contract, based in Hamburg.

You'd be our first engineering hire, owning the embedded (no_std) Rust firmware and working directly with the CTO (me) on implementation through certification.

Looking for: at least 1+ yr no_std production Rust, a testing/quality mindset, and CI/CD + HiL + coverage as everyday tools. Bonus: async Rust, ARM/RISC-V tracing, CAN/LIN/BLE/LTE, safety-critical (IEC 61508 / ISO 26262).
